Under the Skin is a 2013 science fiction thriller film directed by Jonathan Glazer and starring Scarlett Johansson. It is adapted from Michel Faber's 2000 novel of the same name, about an alien sent to Earth by a rich corporation to prey on unwary hitchhikers. The screenplay was written by Glazer and Walter Campbell.
Release
Under the Skin premiered on 29 August 2013 at the Telluride Film Festival. It later played in competition at the 70th Venice International Film Festival. The film was also screened at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. It will be released in the United Kingdom on March 14, 2014
